Practical

In practical class, we are required to create an e-portfolio for this module, digital photography and imaging. We will be updating and recording our works in this blog. Mr Fauzi also showed examples from past year students on how to arrange the blog.

Exercise: Find 3 graphic designs from Pinterest and explain the reason why you like them.

Design #1 - Norton Internet Security “Grenade” Ad (By Leo Burnett)

When I saw this poster, I am able to understand the message the poster wanted to convey and express to the audience. This artwork is designed for Norton Internet Security, a discontinued computer program that provides malware protection and removal. The description of this poster is “In the hands of a cybercriminal, a computer is a weapon. Every click matters.” In simple words, it conveys a message of computer is becoming a weapon in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Design #2 - Save the Earth 3 (By Joe-Antcliff)

I feel like this poster is very interesting through the way it is expressing the message, this poster metaphors the earth as ice cream melting, which also can bring out the message to urge people to save the earth. This poster is designed by Joe-Antcliff for college project. The theme of this poster is “Save The Earth”. This poster focuses on global warming issue on the earth. The melting earth is like ice-cream because of heat. It shows that the earth is also melting because of global warming which caused by human activities.

Design #3: AIGA_ Art Chantry

This poster gives me a really strong impact because of the contrast of the graphic and the colour background. This poster was used to promote Art Chantry speaking at an AIGA Cleveland event. This poster has a theme of “Art Speaks, Posters Yell.” This poster has shown a message of how art is able to convey messages to the audiences just like the opened mouth which looks like yelling in the poster.
